What is psychoeducational assessment?
A psychoeducational assessment (also known as a psych-ed assessment) is a comprehensive process that uses several evidence-based testing tools to create a complete picture of your functioning, especially when it comes to cognitive functions and learning.

Here at ADD Centre, we provide a comprehensive psychoeducational assessment service designed to help you understand your:
-
Learning profiles
-
Attention abilities
-
Cognitive functioning
-
Academic strengths and challenges
Is psychoeducational assessment worth it?

Definitely! Here are the main benefits that you can expect:
1. A psych-ed assessment helps you pinpoint what is impacting your learning, attention, or academic performance.
2. As a result, you receive an in-depth profile of cognitive, academic, and attention functioning, giving you insight into natural strengths as well as areas that may benefit from additional support.
3. The final report outlines strategies and accommodations for school, work, and daily life, making it easier to make the necessary adjustments
Whether you’re navigating school support, workplace accommodations, or mental health treatment options, the psych-ed assessment provides you with a solid foundation to make informed decisions about your future and ensure long-term success.
What does psych-ed assessment include?
Our assessments go far beyond quick checklists or surface-level testing. Every assessment we conduct consists of seven stages:
ADHD & Attention Testing
We use objective, computerized attention tests (IVA, TOVA) to measure focus, impulsivity, and response control. These are key components in identifying ADHD and other attention-related concerns.
CNS Vital Signs Neurocognitive Test Battery
It’s a comprehensive digital assessment that evaluates memory, processing speed, executive functioning and other core cognitive skills that are crucial for learning and everyday performance.
EEG Assessment and Neurofeedback Demonstration

It’s a test that analyzes your brainwave activity (in a non-invasive manner) to better understand your cognitive patterns. This includes a brief neurofeedback demonstration so you can see how brain-based training works.
Intelligence (IQ) Testing
We use a standardized IQ test to better understand your cognitive abilities such as reasoning, problem-solving, verbal comprehension, and visual-spatial processing.

Academic Achievement Testing
It’s an evaluation of your core academic skills, such as:
• Reading
• Writing
• Mathematics
Used to pinpoint strengths and areas of difficulty.
Clinical interview and history review
The second-to-last stage is basically a structured conversation that focuses on understanding your developmental history, educational background, emotional functioning, and any other factors that may be influencing your attention or learning.
Feedback meeting (in-person or virtual)
Once the assessment is complete, we meet to walk you through the results together. We will also answer your questions, and discuss the next steps.
Comprehensive written report and recommendations
Once everything is ready, you will receive a detailed, easy-to-understand report that summarizes your:
• Testing results and interpretations
• Learning profile and cognitive strengths
• Areas of need or challenge
• Diagnostic impressions, if applicable
• Clear, evidence-based recommendations
• Possible school or workplace accommodations

This report can be used for school planning, IEP meetings, workplace accommodations, or to serve as a basis for future therapy or academic support.
